Silicone Casting Material
The liquid silicone rubber casting material and catalyst are supplied in 8 lb. and 2 lb. cans along with 12.8 oz. and 3.2 oz. containers of catalyst, respectively, and a 3 ml bottle of accelerant. Silicone is used for making accurate casts of footprints, tire tracks, tool marks, and for lifting dusted prints from textured surfaces or irregularly shaped objects. Includes instruction sheets.
Preparing the silicone for casting is simple and straightforward. Combine 10 parts of silicone rubber with 1 part catalyst and add 1 to 2 drops accelerant and mix. Pour silicone mix in the impression and let cure for fifteen to thirty minutes (at 70 °F, 50% relative humidity). Includes instruction sheets.
